GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The Scientific Committee is pleased that you intend to share your work at the 11th International Symposium on the Nutrition of Herbivores.

Before you begin to prepare your abstract, note that:

  • Abstracts must be submitted online through the Oxford Abstracts platform - click here
  • The deadline for abstract submission is March 10, 2023.
  • Each submitting author can only contribute up to two abstract submissions.
  • Keep in mind that your abstract should fit the scope of one of the 11th ISNH themes.
  • All abstracts will be submitted for peer review.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in an Abstract Book by Animal - Science proceedings.

Now, follow the instructions to prepare your abstract:

  • All abstracts must be written in English (British or American but spelling must be consistent throughout).
  • Considering the scope of the study, authors must indicate the theme in which the abstract fits best:
    • Ecosystem Services and nutrition: a. Provision; b. Regulating; c. Cultural and Supporting
    • Ecological Nutrition of Herbivores
    • Optimal Nourishing of Herbivores
    • Applied nutrition and herbivory in the age of big data and technology
    • The role of the herbivore in Future food systems
    • Other theme related to the nutrition of herbivores
  • Authors should choose the preferred means of presentation: oral, poster or either. The scientific committee will select the best contributions for oral presentations.
  • The abstracts should be structured to include:
    • Title
    • Authors and affiliations
    • Abstract text
    • Keywords
  • ⦁ All co-authors and their respective affiliations (Authors’ institution and country) must be listed. Style example: J. Smith¹, P. E. Jones² , J. M. Garcia¹,³ and P. K. Martin Jr [initials only]¹ Scottish Agricultural College, UK² North Carolina State University, USA ³ Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain
  • ⦁ The presenting author’s email must be indicated. The presenting author will be used as the corresponding author
  • Insert three to five keywords.
  • Abstract title should be concise and informative, include the animal species on which the study has been carried out, exclude the name of the country or of the region where the study took place, exclude Latin names if there is a common name, and exclude non-standard abbreviations. The title should not exceed 20 words.
  • Abstract text should contain a brief contextualization of the study, the objective(s), methods, results, and conclusions and/or implications. Do not include tables or figures. The word limit for the abstract text is 450 words.
  • Please, use our template to prepare your manuscript. You can later copy and past the text from the word document to the Oxford Abstracts submission form

Before starting the submission process, make sure to check the submission deadline and to follow all submission guidelines and instructions.

Submitting authors will be notified about the abstract acceptance or rejection via email by March 31st, 2023.
